Segovia is one of the most beautiful and monumental of Spain’s cities. It is situated in the region of Castilla y León, in the heart of Spain, only half an hour by train from Madrid. The Spanish which you will learn here is considered one of the purest and clearly spoken in the whole country.
In 1985 it was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site. It is a city where you can “touch history”. The impressive aqueduct and many other ancient sites show that the history of Segovia can be traced back to the time of the Ibero-Celts. The medieval structures and the narrow streets reflect its Christian, Jewish and Muslim heritage.
With its 57,000 inhabitants, Segovia is an ideal size for exchange students. It is small and safe enough for them to easily find their way, but big enough to ensure that life never gets boring.
